Oral Cancer Screenings
Early detection of oral cancer saves lives. Dr. Singleton continually
advances his practice to ensure he is providing optimum oral health
care to his patients.
One American dies every hour from oral cancer. Late detection of oral
cancer is the primary cause for both incidence and mortality rates of
oral cancer to continue to increase. As with most cancers, age is the
primary risk factor for oral cancer. Tobacco and alcohol use are other
major predisposing risk factors. Alarmingly, more than 25% of oral cancers
occur in people who don't smoke and have no other lifestyle risk factors.
Studies also suggest that the human papillomavirus (HPV 16/18) plays
a role in more than 20% of oral cancer cases.

The good news is... when early stage oral cancer is found,
treatment is simpler and more than 90 successful.
